Welcome to this week’s meeting of the eClub of the State of Jefferson.
I am Bob Gibson, President of the Rotary eClub of State of Jefferson. Welcome to this week’s meeting.

The Board of Directors of your eClub Foundation met this morning. We discussed how our Foundation could be used to respond to requests for support and react to urgent needs that arise from time-to-time. The Board approved the matching funds needed for our District Grant application supporting the literacy project with the Navajo Nation. The Board also approved support for two related literacy projects in Uganda. There was discussion related to support for Ukraine.
In addition to discussing specific projects, the Foundation Board discussed developing policies and guidelines for handling requests and responding to needs, as they arise. It is important to me that we maintain the integrity and credibility of our Foundation. It can be a valuable tool in getting projects, which you bring forward, off the ground. Bruce Garrett and Greg Brown have volunteered to put these policies together. This will be important work.
Mark your calendar! We are having another Member Meeting (Coffee Chat) this Saturday at 9:00 am PDT. We are fortunate to have Dan Smith as our program. He has traveled to Ukraine and developed important contacts among the Ukrainians. He will be giving us his firsthand observations and assessment of the challenges facing the Ukrainians. You will be receiving the link for this meeting in a separate email.
