Welcome to this week’s meeting of the eClub of the State of Jefferson.
I am Bob Gibson, President of the Rotary eClub of State of Jefferson. Welcome to this week’s meeting. I hope this finds you well.
Your Board of Directors had a special meeting on Monday. They gave their approval to prepare and submit a District Grant Application for a literacy project that will assist the Chinle Planting Hope Project that we have supported in Chinle, Arizona. The project involves providing a book “vending machine” that will be operated with tokens. Children will receive tokens for meeting reading goals or doing volunteer work around the Community Center. They will use the tokens to select a book from the vending machine. This is a valuable opportunity to encourage reading and community service. (Read More at Navajo Literacy Project).
The project application does not preclude our pursuit of a way to support the eClub of Ukraine. I believe we can create a meaningful project by collaborating with other Clubs. We will use the list we received from the eClub of Ukraine to develop a positive direction.
