Presidents corner BLANK

Welcome to this week’s meeting of the eClub of the State of Jefferson.

I am Bob Gibson, President of the Rotary eClub of State of Jefferson. Welcome to this week’s meeting. I hope this finds you well.

In 1905, Paul Harris, as a young lawyer, had moved to Chicago. He gathered a small group of business colleagues to meet on a regular basis. This fulfilled his need for fellowship. This was the beginning of Rotary.

Fellowship remains one of the fundamental cornerstones of Rotary. I believe successful Rotary Clubs, along with their work on service projects, create the opportunity for fellowship. Zoom meetings are our answer to this need. Our Board meeting is next week, January 19 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Please check your email, or login to the eClub website, for the Zoom link for this meeting. This will be an opportunity to meet with other members and observe the business of our Club. I will be proposing a general membership meeting in February. I believe we need scheduled face-to-face meetings. I believe these meetings can be done while maintaining our identity of “Rotary on Your Time.”

Thank you for your interest in our Club and your commitment to “Service above Self.”

Enjoy the meeting.
